This recipe was given to me by a friend that had a pub and was well and truly a business savvy woman.
She used to offer to her patrons small bowls of this Chilli little bites for free, the reason was, when they were drinking beer they felt like eating it and once they ate it they craved more beer.
Not that most of us need too many excuses for more beer but it actually works! It’s the ultimate footie night treat and so easy! If you love chillies you have to try it!
Warning, it is badly addictive and the hardest part will be stop eating.
1 Small onion
1 Clove Garlic
1 Red Chilli deseeded
100g ground Parmesan cheese
2 Spoons Butter softned
1/2 cup milk
1/2 cup oil
1 Tablespoon dried chilli flakes
White flour – the quantity will vary a lot according to the size of the Onion, check the recipe
With a blender or food processor, make a paste with all ingredients except for the Flour.
Put the spiced mixture in a bowl and slowly add flour, half cup at a time, mixing up really well after each addition until you have a smooth dough, just hard enough to roll.
Pre-heat the oven to 180C.
Roll the dough to form a log to form a log about 1 cm wide. With a knife cut pieces of about 1 cm of length. You will have to do it in batches.
Put the biscuits in a large tray lined with baking paper. Bake for about 15-20 until golden brown. Let it cool down before serving it.
You can keep the biscuits for several days and if they go soft, just put it back in the oven for some minutes.
